Community Changemaker Award 2026

The Community Changemaker Award is presented to those who dedicate themselves to uplifting our community and empowering our youth. It recognizes vision, commitment, and the courage to turn ideas into action.

This year, we are proud to recognize two extraordinary individuals: Rick Tarca and Glen Rockiki.

After we lost many trees behind our building, Rick and Glen worked tirelessly to bring our trails back to life, transforming them into safe and welcoming spaces for all of us to enjoy.

Their efforts have brought back the opportunity for our youth and families to connect with nature, stay active, and enjoy all the activities offered during Tap Into Nature.

Because of Rick and Glen’s dedication, our trails are once again a place where we can experience the joy of the outdoors. Their work reminds us that change is not only possible, but contagious — when one person steps forward to lead, others are inspired to follow.

On behalf of AHM, it is our privilege to present the Community Changemaker Award to Rick Tarca and Glen Rockiki. Please join me in celebrating their achievements and in thanking them for the difference they make and encouraging all of us to find our own ways to be changemakers. Congratulations, Rick and Glen — and thank you.

Community Changemaker Award 2023

The Community Changemaker Award is presented to an individual who creates positive change in our community and for our youth. This year’s 2023 Community Changemaker Award was presented to Michelle Nicholson, Founder and Owner of The Flour Girl Cafe, and Bakery in Hebron, for her ongoing commitment to the betterment of our local community. Michelle has been a positive force in our community long before she donned the town with hot pink and sourdough goodness. AHM Board and Staff members were honored to present this award to such a deserving recipient.

Congratulations to 2022 Award Recipients, Gina & Troy Kelsey!

Before being presented with a beautiful anniversary plaque for their service to the regional community, AHM’s Vice President Sara Tarca spoke about the impact Gina Marie’s dinner has had on so many lives. “Ten years later and after tonight we estimate a cumulative total of more than $40,000 in contributions from the Gina Maries dinner has supported counseling and social work services for children experiencing trauma, depression, substance abuse, isolation, and a long list of other personal family hardships. The funds from this event have helped support services such as the Lanterns Mentoring program, Family Resource Center, Juvenile Review Board, Performing Arts for our youth, and even the CHOREs program for our local seniors.”
