Stocks – Shares of stock are a good way to make a donation, particularly those that have greatly
appreciated over time.
Legacy Gift – A legacy gift is a planned future donation, to a charity such as AHM. This type of gift is given through a will or charitable trust and can benefit
local children long into the future.
Gift of Real Estate – Giving a gift of real estate to AHM offers two benefits: a potential income tax
charitable deduction for the fair market value and it offers a greater gift to charity; since charities don’t pay capital gains taxes. The full value of your gift goes to causes you care about.
Matching Gift – Giving a matching gift through your employer is a donation made to a non-profit which often doubles the original contribution that you make to AHM. Through the generous support of the corporate and business community, AHM receives many matching gifts throughout the year.
Life Insurance Policy – Gifting a life insurance policy to the charity of your choice, provides a lasting legacy for a cause you believe in.
Charitable Gift from your IRA
If you are 70 1/2 years old, did you know that you can make a tax-free donation directly from your IRA account? Under the Pension Protection Act of 2006, the legislation allows individual donors age 70 1/2 and over to make lifetime gifts to qualified public charities, such as AHM, without incurring tax effects.
