POSTPONED – Nature and Adventure Day at 2020 Maple Festival

AHM Youth and Family Services and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is teaming up to once again host the Annual Nature and Adventure Day as part of the Maple Festival weekend.
This year’s Nature and Adventure day will be held on Saturday, March 21st on the grounds of AHM Youth and Family Services, 25 Pendleton Drive in Hebron. The doors will open at 10 AM.
Nature and Adventure Day will feature a wide range of indoor and outdoor environmental educational fun and interactive programs, for both children and adults. Exhibits this year include a live raptor visit from Horizon Wings, displays on amphibian and reptile life, a Connecticut Tea Trail exhibit, exploring trees and invasive insects, animal skulls, bones and furs, Institute for American Indian Studies, Museum and Research Center, making a plaster cast animal print, Tiny Tree Huggers, KinderRHAMa Crafts and more.
Outdoors there will be guided hikes on the beautiful St. Peter’s preserve. This year there will also be a Do It Yourself maple syrup demonstration that will also include historical aspects of making maple syrup in New England, tapping and boiling it down to syrup.
Tickets are $3.00 at the door, (both children and adults). All proceeds from Nature and Adventure Day will help support mental health services for local children, teens, young adults and families served by AHM.
