Family Resource Center Summer Programs
The AHM Family Resource Center will be having the following programs for young children and families in the summer. Come join us!
Play and Learn Groups for children ages birth-5 and their adults will be held at Gilead Hill School on Tuesdays from 9:30-10:45 am from 6/27/23 until 8/8/23. There is no class on 7/4/23. The program includes crafts, free play with materials (trucks, train table, play kitchen, puzzles), circle time, snacks, and information about parenting and child development. All enrolled families will be offered a free developmental screening for their child. The cost is $45 per family for the 6 week session.
Messy Hands for children ages 2-5 and their adults will be held at Gilead Hill School on Tuesdays from 11:00-12:00 PM from 6/27/23 until 8/8/23. There is no class on 7/4/23. Children will play with and explore a variety of sensory materials including shaving cream, paint, sand, slime, and other substances. The cost is $45 per family for the 6 week session.
First Steps in Music Class for children birth-5 and their adults will be held at the AHM building, 25 Pendleton in Hebron. There will be two 3 week sessions on Wednesdays from 9:45-10:30. Session 1 will be 6/28, 7/5 and 7/12 and Session 2 will be 7/26, 8/2, and 8/9. This program is a developmentally appropriate and researched early childhood music program facilitated by a trained music teacher with singing, movement, rhythm, and instruments. The cost is $45 per family for the 3 week session.
Play and Learn in the Park for children birth-5 and their adults will be held at Veteran’s Park in Hebron on 7 Thursdays from 9:30-10:30 AM from 6/29-8/10/23. Children can enjoy the playscape, crafts, and circle time with a story and singing.
Parenting Workshop: ENRICH Your Relationship With Your Child:
This class will offer practical, researched parenting skills. Parent can participate in from 1-7 workshop interactive sessions free of charge. Registration is required. The class will be on Wednesdays 7/12-8/8/23 via ZOOM and is appropriate for parents with children of all ages. Families will receive a Zoom link after they register. The schedule is as follows:
Session 1: Wednesday, July 12 8:00-9:00 PM -Encouragement, Empathy
Session 2: Wednesday, July 19 12:30-1:30 PM -Naming Emotions, Negativity
Session 3: Wednesday, July 26 8:00-9:00 PM -Respect, Redirection, Reasoning
Session 4: Wednesday, August 2 12:30-1:30 PM-Identity and Involvement
Session 5: Wednesday, August 9 8:00-9:00 PM -Communication and Consequences
Session 6: Wednesday, August 16 12:30-1:30 PM-Humor, Health, and Happiness
Session 7: Wednesday, August 23 8:00-9:00 PM-Resilience, Self-Compassion
The class will be facilitated by Dr. Debbie Kruenegel-Farr, a parent coach, consultant, and educator with a Ph.D in research, Human Development and Family Studies, The class follows the book Enrich your Relationship with your Child, written by Dr Farr. and can be purchased through Amazon here: Enrich book.
