CHOREs – Helping Our Older Americans
Andover, Hebron, and Marlborough Youth and Family Services has reopened the CHOREs program for area senior citizens. This means that there are job openings for teens from Andover, Hebron, and Marlborough.
If you are a teen interested in working for the CHOREs program, please call Mrs. Graham at AHM Youth and Family Services 860-228-9488. This is a good way to make money and help neighbors in your community! CHOREs youth workers must be 14 years of age or older, enjoy working outdoors and are committed to helping local senior citizens.
The CHOREs program helps local seniors complete some light outdoor tasks around their homes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing rules set up by the state, AHM is only assigning outdoor work at this time.
To fill out an application to be a youth worker, you should start the process today, as there are only a limited number of jobs.
AHM raises all of the funds for CHORES through fundraisers, private donations and grants. CHOREs is a program funded in large part by the North Central Area Agency on Aging.
While there is no cost to the seniors that use this service, donations are certainly welcome to help support this program. The AHM CHOREs program is also generously supported by Church of the Holy Family in Hebron, Marlborough Congregational Church, and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Hebron. Special thanks to the Senior Directors in Andover, Hebron, and Marlborough for partnering with AHM staff to help connect area seniors with the CHOREs program.
