COALITION FOR A HEALTHY EMPOWERED COMMUNITY

The former AHM Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention Task Force has changed its name to the Coalition for a Healthy Empowered Community, or CHEC.

Upcoming:  Parents Talk Series

AHM CHEC Coalition presents a discussion series about important topics related to parenting teens.  Please save the dates for the following talks.  No registration is required and all talks are held at the AHM building, 25 Pendleton Drive, in Hebron.  Please call our office at 860-228-9488 for more information.

  • Social Media, Sexting and Monitoring:  Thursday, October 11th, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Vaping, Drinking and Substance Abuse:  Wednesday, November 28th, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Bullying, Mental Health and Issues Confronting Teens Today:  Tuesday, January 8th, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • Prescription Drugs:  Thursday, March 14th, 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Communities are concerned about the rise in over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription drug abuse among teens and contamination of the drinking water.  Drop off your unwanted medications.  Help prevent over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription drug abuse.  Keep our youth safe and protect our environment.  This service and free and anonymous.  For more information, please take a look at our flyer.
